How Much Does Your Face Cost?

I saw a fantastic tag on a few blogs the other day that I thought would be fun to do! I am a little slow to pick up this tag, I know it started awhile ago, but oh well! Instead of the $20 makeup challenge that has been going around, which focuses on limiting the cost of your makeup, this tag focuses on costing out how much your face really costs. This is my standard everyday makeup. You will notice there is no shadow.. on a typical day I do not wear eye shadow just liner. I thought this was fun and if you want, I tag you to do it as well!

Eco Tools Bronzer Brush: $11.00
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream: $9.00
Benefit Hoola Lip Gloss: $18.00
Marcelle Xtreme Mascara: $12.00
NYX Eyebrow Push-Up Liner: $7.00
CoverGirl Lash Blast Length: $8.00
Korres Pomegranate Mattifying Treatment: $10.00
MAC Nicki Minaj Lipstick: $19.00
Physicians Formula Liquid Liner: $11.00
Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil in Perversion: $17.00
NYC Smooth Size Bronzer in Sunny: $3.00
Tarte Amazion Clay Blush in Blissful: $25.00
MAC Blot Powder: $25.00

Total Makeup Cost: $175.00

This pretty face? It ain't cheap! Granted a lot of these products last forever, and if I broke it down to price per use I'm sure the price tag would be much more reasonable (I hope at least!).

I hope you enjoyed this post!

xo Kathryn

  4. Your face is so cheap compared to mine! I didnt include brushes when did my post but I did have shadows. I think I need to start cutting back what I actually use on my face everyday. Great post!

  8. This is a great post and I haven't seen it before (I saw the $20 challenge but don't want to buy products just because they're under $20). I am obsessed with your Nicki Minaj lipstick, girl! And I'm also curious to know what you think of the BB.

  12. My face is probably just as expensive!! Although probably more so because I wear eye shadow! Great post though, it's fun to see our "face breakdown"! Although you're right, I'm very sure that if you broke the cost down to per use, the number will sound almost logical ;-)

  14. Interesting post! I wonder how much my face would cost, this is not a bad post idea :) You've got some relatively inexpensive products but also some higher end ones as well, like the Tarte and MAC. I really want to get my hands on a Tarte blush, it's too bad they're not available where I live!

  21. "This pretty face? It ain't cheap!", that's funny! :D

I'm a bit like this, trying to figure out the cost of stuff all the time. I'm more into figuring out how much for a month or year though to put it in perspective and be able to compare it to other life costs... I did an approximate of my skincare costs a little bit back when I thought I had my skincare routine was there to stay but then I got into beauty boxes and added a few thing and I just don't know where I stand anymore!

I'm going to keep this idea in mind for later. Right now it would be impossible to calculate since I've had most of my make-up for more than a couple years so the cost is near-nothing monthly but I'm getting more "into" it and it will surely multiply!

It was interesting to see your costs. I found interesting that your BB cream, which to me right now is a staple to my beauty routine, is the pretty much the least expensive thing you put on your face! And I think you could lower your makeup cost by putting half that amount in skincare and putting the brushes and mattifying treatment in another category too to lower your makeup costs. hehe. A trick, obviously, since you'd be spending the money either way and saving nothing, but it makes a person feel better? hehe

Can I give a small comment on the font of your comments? It might only be me but I normally skim through and read a bunch of them and I can't seem to get past the font - it's very difficult for me to read...

    1. I love the feedback sweetie I have changed the font of my comments.. hopefully this makes it a little easier to read.. The font before was pretty but in the end just not practical. And your right my BB cream is the least expensive product I never realized that!

  24. I'm still meaning to this..soon, soon lol. Can you tell me more about that MAC blotting powder?

    1. For sure! I adore this because I have really oily skin.. it gives no coverage so it won't change the look of your makeup.. I use a dense brush to apply it because I find anything softer doesn't pick up enough product.. usually I apply this over my powder in the morning and then at lunch I will do a quick once over to get rid of any oil peaking through!
